the other one is obviously they have some kind of technology that will allow advertising to be delivered and eliminate the copyright hassles that youtube has been having.

guess we’ll have to wait and see.

actually executing this couldn’t have been simpler. just add his gmail address into the list of people able to access the site and boom, done. no additional passwords for the other user no confirmation email nothing. it was just easy.

score another small win for google!

If you haven”t been able to tell up till now i am a big fan of both Google and 37signals. Both companies that are seemingly worlds apart and both have products that i love. As is the case with alot of competing products in the online world as well as the offline world, I am being forced to make a decision.

What my current workflow looks like

Gmail Hosted for all my email (except work email)

Google Calendar for personal timetracking, appt’s etc (this does include some freelance stuff and any important work meetings)

What I am missing from this is BackPackit

Backpackit has all the to do list stuff i want, it’s got note taking file uploading and sharing it’s great but i just can’t figure out what to do. My options are as follows

1) Stay with my current setup of gmail/gcal and occasionaly use backpackit

2) Ditch gcal and do all calendaring in backpackit

3) Ditch backpackit entirely and try to accomodate lost functionality within gmail/gcal ?

Definately going to have to take a bit of time to think about this one…

so i finally got around to switching my jonezy.org email to google hosted (i got an invite about 2 months ago but put off swtiching)

it’s definately a very simple straight forward email service but it’s familiar and comfortable (I have like 5 other gmail accounts that i think i am going to consolidate into my jonezy.org email). I have setup all of my other accounts (work etc) to be forwarded to my hosted account and with gmail’s intelligent replying i can basically use my jonezy.org account for everything which might be pretty cool.

the other great thing is that it still gives you the ability to use the calendar (which i have recently started using and absolutely love).

i think this might solve the problem of my personal email clutter, finally.

and at work it’s been suggested that we might even use this service! i wonder if that will happen?
