I can’t remember the last time I used my browsers built in bookmarking functionality (can you?), and for a while I’ve been looking for a better solution for keeping track of sites that I know I”m going to want to come back to. I’ve gone through the following various methods of keeping track of sites:
- 37 Signals Backpack – I had pages split up into categories then would use lists on the page to store the links to the sites, didn’t work very well because it required a huge amount of manual work
- Delicious – The obvious and one of the most popular solutions, I don’t know why but I don’t like it, I’ve never been able to integrate it into my computer use habits.
- Google Reader – Using the “Note in reader” bookmarklet and tags in google reader this has been the best solution I’ve come across so far (but the tagging can get messy)
- Gmail – For a long time I would simply send myself an email and then move it to a bookmarks folder, didn’t really like this solution either
- Posterous – Just signed up for an account here, it’s got a great bookmarklet as well but not sure about tags just yet as I’ve barely started using it!
Does anyone else out there have any great solutions (preferably web based) for tracking bookmarks? I would love to hear any and all suggestions! (the crazier the better!)

Great topic! I haven’t used my bookmarks in a long time either, but I do use my bookmark toolbar a lot for things I want to look at but don’t have time for yet. After I look I either send to delicious, google reader, or both.
I would love to find an alternative to delicious though.
So I’ve decided to try out using delicious again. I have a fair bit of stuff in there already and relative to the solutions posted above it seems to be the best… for now anyways.
