R.I.P, Lloyd Alexander Jones

My grandfather died this past Wednesday October 18th. This is the first time I have lost a very close family member, the first time I have really been touched by death. I have been fortunate that up until this point all my grandparents have been alive and relatively healthy (they are all in there 80’s now so I fear that this is going to be the first more to come). One thing that has really hit home more than anything over the last few days is that you can never take enough time to spend with people that you love.

It always seems so difficult at the time to spend a few hours traveling to go see the people that have made your life what it is and you the person that you are but when it’s to late you can’t get that time back. You can’t go over it in your head and imagine what could have happened or would have happened if you did things differently but you can always change things moving forward and always make sure that the people you love know that you love them.

Your thoughts touched me very much. I am at work and the tears are flowing. It is amazing how these things touch our lives and affect us. You being one of the older grandchildren have had more time with your grandfather and more memories. Words to live by; always look for the good in people, you can never spoil your children with too much love, sharing your life with your family is the best gift you can give them.

Spend as much time with your family as you can and never wish the years away. Before you know it they will be going to university and your house will be very quiet.

    Love Aunt Joanne
