My Dream App

I actually had an entry in my google calendar to remind me to check out My Dream App today.

I wasn’t really sure what it would turn out to be but it seems to be a contest to submit your application idea’s to be judged by some pretty well known web 2.0 elite.

If your application wins it will be developed by a real team of mac developers and will then become available for download as a shareware application. The winner will get royalties on any proceeds the application makes.
While I think the idea is pretty cool idea the one thing that jumps out at me is that it seems to be limited to downloadable mac software only. It’s not the fact that it’s mac only software that bugs me, it’s the fact that it’s limited to being a real installable application. With the proliferation of online apps these days it seems like they are really blocking out a big portion of what a dream app could be?

If i am wrong please let me know because I might have an idea or two to submit.
