i like to ride my bicycle

so i started excersizing after about 12 years of sloth like existance. i mean the most excersize i got was walking up and down sets of stairs.

so about 2 weeks ago i went out and bought a bike. nothing special mind you.. I didn’t want to be one of those people that goes out and spends 1000 bucks on a bike, rides it for a month and then leaves it in the garage until it rusts apart. So to start with i spent about 120 cdn on this. I figure if i can keep with it for this year (my goal is to go out 4 times a week) i’ll treat myself to something nicer next year.

so tonight i went out for about 45 minutes, it was a really shitty ride though. I kept yawing during the whole thing and i crashed really hard about 1/2 an hour in. What i have been doing is starting out with about 10 minutes of really low impact to get warmed up, then i try and go pretty hard for about 1/2 an hour and then do about 15 minutes of gradually slowing down. Well tonight for some reason about half way through my legs’ just gave out and i had to stop for about 5 minutes or so… thinking back it might have been that i did alot more uphill riding this time. Or maybe I ate too close to going out? I did eat later than usual… well i think i’ll consult my boss (he’s an avid rider with a lot of experience) about a few of these things.
