their heart is in the right place

so it looks like warner brothers is going to start selling movies and distribute them over bit torrent… awesome, finally one of the big motion picture companies get’s it.

sort of.

the downloadable version will cost the same as a regular dvd, will be released at the same time as a regular dvd and will only be playable on the computer it was downloaded on. you can’t burn it and watch it in a dvd player or other computer.

so what exactly is the benefit of buying the download as opposed to buying the dvd (or just downloading the movie illegaly from the many existing bit torrent sites?)

i think the intention is great but the execution is lacking just a little bit of forethought.
